Being such a high-achieving company director, it’s no wonder that Michelle made it her mission to surround herself with associates of the highest quality. From chartered accountants and certified bookkeepers to social media marketing professionals, ValueAdd has a specialist who can help with every business unique needs.
Founder & Director
Michelle is ValueAdd’s founder, chief number-cruncher and resident organisational genius.
A Business Management graduate, Michelle decided to put her formal education into practice in 2011 when ValueAdd was born. 20 years worth of experience in management, accounts, research, computing and admin ensured that Michelle got off to a flyer in enterprise.
The completer/finisher part of Michelle’s personality means that she loves nothing more than untangling the spaghetti of clients’ accounts.
As the MD of ValueAdd, Michelle takes huge pride in leading her team to deliver great work for her clients, many of whom have been with the company for years.
A multiple small business and bookkeeping award winner, Michelle shares her life and business experience as a Women’s Enterprise Scotland Ambassador and she also supports youngsters in her role as a mentor. Did we mention she's also an Ideal Schools Ambassador whereby she promotes better bookkeeping throughout the UK?
When she’s got time to draw breath, Michelle likes to chill out on the sofa watching a crime documentary or catching up on her soaps with a large coffee and some choccy biscuits.
Client Finance Manager
Emma just loves the variety of a week’s work at Value Add. As a highly experienced bookkeeper her day might be spent collating a VAT return for a consultancy company, sorting through invoices or doing a year end summary for an e-commerce or high street shop.
She might even be offering calm professionalism for a client who’s in a bit of a pickle with their numbers.
Whether it’s being given complete responsibility for a client’s books, or developing a deep working relationship, Emma takes it all in her stride.
She can also be found striding out around her local area with her dog Chopper, and as an apprentice gardener she’s adopting an experimental approach. Once indoors, Emma enjoys nothing better than relaxing with a good Netflix documentary.
Christine is Value Add’s admin superstar who also includes payroll and bookkeeping talents to her professional portfolio.
Every day delivers variety and challenge for Christine, but as someone who thrives on detail, she just loves getting into the nitty gritty of each project and feels huge satisfaction from getting it right.
As a natural-born people person, Christine loves to build proper relationships with Value Add clients, always aiming to put people at their ease.
Spare time is spent on the important but simple stuff like eating out, shopping and walking with family and friends. Regular jaunts to the family caravan in Dumfries feature large in Christine’s life, as does the annual visit to the Anglesey branch of her clan, and she does love a holiday in the Salou or Florida sun.
Senior Accountant (FCCA)
Sushil is a Fellow with ACCA and has been a practising accountant since 2015.
He has a versatile skillset in Accounts Preparation & Presentation under local GAAP as well as IFRS.
Looking after your Tax Affairs is where he excels e.g. VAT, Corporate, Capital Gains, Inheritance & Personal Tax.
When not at his computer he loves being a daddy and spending time with his beautiful daughter.
Emma plays a starring role as one of Value Add’s brilliant bookkeepers, and this drama school graduate certainly shines when it comes to order and organisation. When her original ambitions for a career in the West End began to feel like she was on the wrong path, Emma changed direction and started to develop her natural ability with numbers.
As someone who loves accuracy and right answers, she thrives on keeping Value Add clients’ books in great shape.
Professional development is important to Emma, and she’s a qualified Member of the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers, but she also continues to satisfy the performing part of her personality with regular roles in am-dram productions.
New kid on the block Stuart joined the team in 2021 and already has made his mark.
Stuart is a CIMA Chartered Management Accountant and an experienced Financial Controller with a demonstrated history of working in the electrical and electronic manufacturing industry.
Skilled in Sage Products, Cash Flow, ERP Implementations, Business Planning, and Fixed Assets.
Bookkeeping & Payroll
Jennifer is another of our ICB qualified bookkeepers having trained with Ideal Schools.
She’s one of our payroll experts and has flourished in this area. The guru of all things xero payroll.
In a previous life she qualified with a degree in Computer Science so she’s one to call on when we get those trick integrations to work on.
Weekends are usually spent with her family.
They say variety is the spice of life. As a business, we're big Xero fans but sometimes we are asked to work on other software too.
If you were to ask Janette what her choice of software would be she'd say Quickbooks every time.
Janette is a Part Qualified accountant having trained at Campbell Dallas for many years.
She's spent a good proportion of her time in the railway business and in 2015 joined the ValueAdd team where she's worked in the property industry, motor mechanics, film production, IP consultancy and recruitment sectors.
Multi award-winning Amanda is a genius at strategising, planning and implementing Social Media for ValueAdd clients. Phenomenally she seems to need little guidance and is like a dog with a bone when the ideas spark.
She's a dab hand at drawing out the best things to say and matching the words with powerful imagery for maximum impact.
Instagram is where she is usually found but she works across all platforms for the complete package.
Camera-shy Geri is IAB qualified and has been a core member of the ValueAdd team since March 2013.
Traditionally a Sage fangirl she's warmed to Xero and loves the flexibility it brings to clients.
