Senior Bookkeeper/PQ Accountant Required

We’re a small, friendly team of bookkeepers and accountants looking for someone with a bit of personality, who isn’t afraid of change, to take on a senior bookkeeping role.

As a proactive team we are always looking for the new and exciting ways to offer additional benefit to our clients and due to recent expansion we now need a confident, energetic senior team member to help oversee a portfolio of clients and businesses.

Ultimately you’ll be responsible for organising client records and completing effective and accurate bookkeeping and reporting. This will involve processing sales/purchase ledgers, reconciling bank, cash and credit card accounts, preparing VAT Returns, accruals, prepayments, intercompany recharges, investigating any major variances and preparing monthly reconciliation. Occasional production of Monthly Management Accounts and Cash Flow Forecasts is required as is assisting with Payroll for some clients.

One more thing – we’re really big on training so as well as having access to all of our current training resources you will also be responsible for supervising one junior Bookkeeper and will support them with their formal studies.

Previous experience of working on Sage, Xero, Quickbooks Online or FreeAgent would be a huge advantage but training will be provided to fill any gaps.

Apart from a natural flair with numbers, other skills that are necessary are:

  • Good understanding of business and financial issues together with an ability to explain complex financial information in a clear way
  • Good concentration and an eye for detail with the ability to work quickly and accurately to deadlines and manage a busy schedule
  • Lots of energy and motivation
  • Excellent IT skills (especially with databases and financial software)
  • Honest, discreet and trustworthy

This is a part time role (approx. 12/15 hours per week) and there is room for negotiation on this for the right candidate. Salary depending upon experience.

Note: Onsite work in client offices will be required.
