Why, why, why?

Why do we do what we do?

Recently we got to thinking just why it is we do what we do. Well, we love helping businesses and the satisfaction that comes with providing stellar support. We’re always learning and growing and, although it can be scary at times, it’s certainly exciting and never boring.
Here’s our good friend (and fab massage therapist) Liz’s thoughts…
So this blog post is inspired by a good friend of mine who is also a trainer. We met for coffee today and got into a discussion about why we do what we do? It’s always nice to meet my mate for coffee and have the added attraction of him doing my head in at the same time.
So, pretty much all afternoon I have been thinking about why I do what I do? If I think about my job as a kick ass massage therapist (sounds big headed but I love my job) I do what I do because I love making a difference and helping people get to the quickest and easiest way to ‘yes’. Yes being the answer to ‘does that feel better?’ and ‘has your discomfort reduced?’. Winner.
But what about other areas of our lives? Why do I go to the gym? Answer being, because in 20 years I still want to be mobile, and keep all my joints healthy. Believe me, even now, its like snap, crackle, and pop when I move sometimes.
Everything that we do now, what impact is that having on our future selves? I have a couple of people in my life, who are not as mobile and pain free as I would like them to be. They do great, but man oh man, do I wish that I had known better to encourage more movement, knowing what I do now.
‘Why?’ is such an important think to ask, but also to know.
This is a big thinky one. Think about your lifestyle, think about what you do, every day, and then ask… why?
This is just day one for me on this one and I’m looking forward to unpacking it.
Have fun!
We’d like to extend a massive thank you to Liz for her thought provoking words. You can find out more about her wonderful skills (and book yourself in for a treatment, which we thoroughly recommend) on her website, elizabethbandeen.co.uk
